Fortitudo, Fantinelli: “We said we would fight for salvation, now ready for the semi-final”

Matteo Fantinelli he spoke ahead of the start of the playoff semi-final series with his team Fortitudo Bologna who will face the Real Sebastiani Rieti. His words to Il Resto del Carlino: “We find an opponent that we know and that we faced a few weeks ago at PalaDozza. Already then they demonstrated their strength, beating us and highlighting a group of expert and quality Italian players and Jazz Johnson, the best foreigner in the league. Rieti has a long, expert squad of absolute quality. Hogue’s absence? Important for them, but often when a player is missing the others feel more responsible and give something more, which is why we have to put maximum concentration on the series against Rieti.”

Fantinelli returned to talk about the season in which Effe was the protagonist. “We did great. Before the start of the championship we said that we had to fight for survival, now we are here to play the semi-final to the best of our ability. We know that in these playoffs we are well equipped even better than us, but we continue to work and have the desire to give it our all. Now great awareness? Yes of course, everyone wants to get to the end, you never play to lose. We were always first or second throughout the championship, we reached an Italian Cup final, and this built in us confidence and awareness of our means and possibilities.”
