Work continues on ColOrtothe social garden of Rugby Colorno, 800 m2 of land sites in Strada Argine Galasso cultivated by players, members, supporters of the large family of Rugby Colorno. For the 4th consecutive year the vegetables and fruits harvested will supply the Colornese Club House “Al Travavon” with products grown in kilometer zero served regularly for both lunch and dinner. “Thanks to the help of the city councilor with responsibility for the environment Maurizio Segnatelli it was decided to divide the agricultural land and to proceed with the sowing of Monalisa potato tubers for a perimeter of approximately 600 m2, thus allocating the remaining land for the planting of traditional vegetables useful for our Club House. We therefore self-financed the purchase of approximately 75 kg of Monalist potatoes which we will place in 40 meter rows”.
“Thanks to the intervention of our supporters, in particular the surveyor’s agricultural society Valerio Manfrini, we plowed the land deeply and then milled it. Furthermore, to give more vigor to the soil, the Parma Agenzia Agrario Consortium of Vicomero, in the person of Mr. Claudio Chiossi, donated 100 kg of fertilizer to us”.
To the ColOrto tomatoes, courgettes, lettuce, peppers and aubergines will also be planted. During the next operations of milling, creation of flowerbeds, fertilization and planting of tubers The young athletes of Colorno Rugby will be involved.
“One of our ambitions? Create full vertical integration involving the planting, harvesting and final consumption of chips with an event hosted by our Club House to fully enhance our initiative.”
