VASTO-SAN SALVO-CASALBORDINO. A long round of applause and lots of encouragement greeted the cyclists who, around 3.30pm this afternoon, they first crossed the San Salvo area, then that of Vasto and finally that of Casalbordino, pedaling along State Road 16.
The long pink caravan was warmly welcomed as it passed by the public present on the sides of the roads at various points along the route of the 11th stage the one that started from Foiano di Val Fortore and arriving in Francavilla al Mare after 207 kilometres.
Curious, supporters and enthusiasts all cheering for the cyclists who returned to Vasto after the departure in the city center on 8 May 2023 (Read) and the arrival in San Salvo marina the previous day (Read).
“Today once again Vasto was the protagonist of the Giro d’Italia. One of the most loved and followed sporting events. In the early afternoon the pink caravan traveled along State Road 16. Through the images broadcast by national and international TV it was possible to follow the cyclists and appreciate the beauties of the sea and our coast – highlighted the mayor Francesco Menna and the councilor for Sport Carlo Della Penna – we are proud to have always managed to involve Vasto in the greatest sporting event during these years of mandate. .”
