It was held today in the CONI Hall of Honour Advise Federal FIP chaired by Dr. Giovanni Petrucci. Before starting the work, President Petrucci thanked all those who, in any way, expressed their closeness to him and his wife after the car accident which involved both of them on 6 April. Supervision agency for professional clubs – The President reported to the Federal Council on the meeting he had last Thursday with the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi regarding the establishment of an Agency for the economic and financial supervision of professional sports clubs. During the meeting, which was attended by the President of the Lega Basket Serie A Umberto Gandini, the Minister expressed his willingness to take into consideration the observations that emerged during the discussion. The parties involved will update once the final draft has been received.
Luigi Datome Coordinator of the activities of the Men’s National Teams Sector – Luigi Datome, former Head of Delegation of the Senior Men’s National Team, will be Coordinator of the activities of the Men’s National Teams Sector starting from 1 July 2024. The former Captain Azzurro will carry out deputy functions of the President within the activities of the Senior Men’s National Team.
Savior Trainotti confirmed as General Director of the National Teams Sector with a part-time role.
LBA second team hypotheses – In light of the experiences gained in other disciplines, the Federal Council discussed the hypothesis of second teams for the clubs of the Lega Basket Serie A. If the project comes to fruition, membership would not be mandatory.
National Teams Activities – On the eve of the first Italian event of the 2024 season, the Women’s 3×3 Pre-Olympic Tournament in Debrecen, Hungary (16/19 May), President Petrucci informed the Council that the presentation of the 2024 national team uniforms will take place on 28 May men’s and women’s senior, youth and 3×3. The event will take place at the ITA Airways Head Quarter in Fiumicino and will also be an opportunity to announce various activities that the National Teams will develop with federal partners on the occasion of the summer events.
Final balance sheet 2023 and first change note 2024 – The Federal Council has approved the 2023 final budget and the first note of change to the 2024 budget forecast.
Next Federal Council – The next Federal Council will take place on Wednesday 17 July 2024.
