Beach volleyball, Italy ahead in the Madrd and Pingtan Futures! Bianchin/Scampoli and Krumins/Caminati already in the quarterfinals

An excellent start to the Futures tournament season for the Italian couples competing on the pitch this weekend. All three Italian duos have passed the first round and are in the group stage. In Madrid Caminati/Krumins have qualified for the quarter-finals, while in Pingtan in China Biasnchin/Scampoli are in the quarter-finals and Mattavelli/Mancinelli will have to progress from the round of 16.

In the Madrid Future there have been four victories so far obtained by Marco Caminati from Romagna (two international titles won in his career) and by Davis Krumins from Emilia who start their seasonal adventure in the best possible way by flying to the quarterfinals of a prestigious tournament like the Spanish one . In the first round of the qualifiers the Azzurri overwhelmed the Polish pair with a clear 2-0 (21-14, 21-16) Florczyk/Besarab. In the second round of the qualifiers the Italian pair struggled even less to overcome the Spanish hosts Feltrer/Pérez defeated with a clear 2-0 (21-11, 21-15) which opened the path to the main draw for the Italians.

The semi-final of the group was the toughest challenge for the Emilia-Romagna couple who faced the Spanish couple Moreno/Sanfélix managed to prevail only in the tie break. The hosts got off to a good start as they clearly won the first set 21-15, while the Italians responded relentlessly as they dominated the second set with a peremptory 21-11 and then led the tie break from the start until 15 -11 final. Tomorrow the Azzurri will meet their opponents in the quarter-finals.

TO Pingtan in the women’s tournament, Bianchin/Scampoli return to the field with a double success, restarting from the Chinese Future aiming for the Nations Cup which qualifies for Paris 2024. The Italian pair in the semi-final of the group overwhelmed with a Thai team Numwong/Veeradakittikarn 2-0 (21-9, 21-18). In the final of the group Bianchin/Scampoli defeated the Chinese hosts Bai/Wang with an equally clear 2-0 (21-13, 21-14). In the quarter-finals the Italians await the winner of the challenge between the Chinese Wang/Zhang and the Thais Charanrutwadee/Woranatchayakorn.

However, the Chinese tournament began on an uphill climb for the new Italian pair Mattavelli/Mancinelli who were defeated by the home team in the semi-final of the group Wang/Zhang (CHN) with a score of 1-2 (21-9, 20-22, 9-15). In the match that was worth access to the round of 16, however, the Italians found themselves and beat the Kazakh pair 2-0 (21-14, 21-9). Ivanchenko/Kabulbekova. In the round of 16 Mattavelli/Mancinelli will face the Chinese Bai/Wang.
