It’s no longer a secret, my last match has been played and I end my volleyball career. After 16 years of playing volleyball at a professional level it’s time for a different adventure, which makes me nervous, since volleyball is the only life I know, but which I’m also very excited about!
Being successful and winning comes with talent, but I think it also comes with a lot of luck. I feel like luck has been on my side throughout my career… (and life, with a family that was willing to dedicate a lot of time to volleyball and supported me in everything) opportunities and trust that I got from clubs, national team, fans, teammates and coaches but above all the luck of having met all these incredible people, who left a big mark on me during this journey.
About 8 years ago I was very lucky that Imoco volleyball was interested in signing me. I never imagined that they would become my second home for so long.
But how happy I am that it was!
I want to thank the company who created something magical here, the staff who accepted and even embraced all my craziness, the fans who traveled all over the world to support us and make us feel loved, but above all the amazing women I got to to know and have played with over the years. You will all forever have a big place in my heart and I believe I have made friends for life.
I also want to specifically thank this group of women from Imoco 2024, a lot has already been said and you all know how I feel about you and how much I love you, but I just want to thank you again for an amazing last season. I never thought I would end my career this way. With the Grand Slam, but most of all feeling so appreciated and loved by you guys❤️ know that you are all amazing people and that I will always call you my family.
