ROME – Sofia Keninnumber 42 in the WTA rankings, was the protagonist of a sensational reaction towards the chair umpire and the audience at the Foro Italico, during the match against Lucia Bronzetti (won with the result of 6-3, 6-2) at the Italian internationals. During the first set and with the result 3-2 for the Italian, the American tennis player asked to interrupt the match due to the weather conditions. According to Kenin (winner of the Australian Open in 2020) it would have been dangerous to continue playing with the (light) rain that was falling and making the pitch slippery.
