Napoli have chosen Pioli: two-year contract with an option of 3 million per year
Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport is betting strongly on Stefano Pioli at Napoli: the negotiations will come to a head at the end of the season. The coach will have to reach an agreement with Milan for the termination of his contract. The alternative is Italian.
Our opinion: Would Stefano Pioli be the right coach to start from for Napoli? Probably yes. At Milan he demonstrated that he knows how to work a lot with the so-called “material available”, without making particular market requests (which for example Antonio Conte is used to doing) and that he doesn’t need so much time to get the first results (which, for example, should be granted more to a Gian Piero Gasperini). After all, Stefano Pioli’s adventure at Milan seems to be coming to an end: the Napoli option could also be right for him. Obviously if you ask him, he remains attached to the Milan project as long as he can. However, all things considered, it is certainly not a hypothesis to be discarded a priori.
Inter: in addition to Gudmundsson, Lukebakio is liked
The Icelandic Gudmundsson remains the striker at the top of Inter’s thoughts, but according to the Gazzetta dello Sport the Nerazzurri are closely following the exploits of Sevilla striker Dodi Lukebakio, who was already followed last summer by Inter and Fiorentina.
Our opinion: Born in 1997, a Belgian international of Congolese origins, Lukebakio is returning from a complicated season with the Sevilla shirt, with which he has so far collected 23 matches and 5 goals this season, also thanks to a strained ligament which forced him into the pits for a long time period. Born as a winger, he has developed as a second striker but can also play as a central reference. Fast and technical, he vaguely resembles Lukaku and not only because he is his teammate in the national team and has a surname very similar to the former Inter player and now Roma player: 187cm tall and naturally left-footed, he is however more agile and agile and above all very flexible (usually he starts from the right and then moves towards the centre) and doesn’t earn a lot (at the moment 1.5 million euros per season). It would be a good solution to “fill” Inter’s squad.
