Lewis Hamilton is excited about his move to Ferrari, and is convinced that he can return to the top with the Ferrari. Here are his words.
The Miami Grand Prix was the best so far this season Lewis Hamiltonand it’s surprising to make a statement like that when you read the rankings and discover that he came in sixth position. The seven-time world champion went far beyond the limits of Mercedesfighting to the end against Sergio Perezwho drives a Red Bull and who had to work hard to keep it behind him.
Hamilton signed a contract with Ferrari for 2025, and he’s very excited by the idea of working with Adrian Newey, who left the Milton Keynes team and now seems ready to join the Cavallino. The ingredients to return to the top are all there, and the seven-time world champion can’t wait to start the new challenge.
Hamilton, here’s what he’s aiming for with Ferrari
It is now understood as the last season of Lewis Hamilton at the Mercedes it will be pure suffering, due to a car that is not even remotely comparable to the top of the class. Because of this, the seven-time world champion is already focused on Ferrariand he is convinced, as he declared to the “CBS“, to fight soon and return to their place in front of everyone.
Here are his words: “I’m not currently thinking about my future beyond F1. My goal is to win my eighth world title, or at least, be able to fight for this target. Over the years it has been very tough, there have been several challenges and it couldn’t have gone worse. We exist to win, and when you can’t, your outlook has to change“.
Hamilton firmly believes in the Ferrari project, and knows that he can return to the top with the Scuderia from Modena: “It’s not just about chasing, but about improving. The experience in Mercedes was fantastic and we won a lot, but I told myself it was time to go back to my place. I don’t leave Mercedes because I’m unhappy or have relationship problems, they’ve always been with me through thick and thin, they’ve believed in me since I was 13. So I have to admit it’s a strange transition for now“.
