Women’s Volleyball – Imoco Volley wins the Champions League

After having won the Scudetto of the women’s Serie A1 championship, winning the title of Italian Champions for the sixth consecutive year, the panthers ofImoco Conegliano they also fly to the roof of Europe. Sunday evening, in the Grand Final of the prestigious CEV Champions LeagueDaniele Santarelli’s team overcame the tie-break True Volley Monza of Paola Egonu and Myriam Sylla (the same opponents in the Scudetto Final) and was thus able to lift the coveted trophy. The Venetian team, a battleship made up of some of the best players around such as Asia Wolosz, Monica De Gennaro, Marina Lubian, Isabelle Haak and Sarah Fahr, brought the coveted trophy back to Italyinterrupting the dominance of Turkish side Vakifbank Istanbul, winners of the title for two years in a row.

Men’s volleyball – Trento is European Champion

L’Itas Trentino he failed to confirm himself as Italian Champion for this season too (title won by Sir Safety Perugia), but in the meantime he made up for it by climbing to the top of Europe. The team led by coach Soli, driven by the great performances of Alessandro Michieletto and Marko Podrascanin, was in fact awarded the CEV Champions League beating the Poles with a clear 3 to 0 Jastrzebski. After the two finals lost in 2021 and 2022 (both against Zaksa), the Dolomites are thus back to winning a European title thirteen years after their last victory.
