“Certainly the last home game was very negative and starting from me and the players, I hope that in everyone’s head there is the desire to redeem themselves and finish the season well in front of our fans even though it doesn’t count from a playoff point of view”
More regrets after Scafati?
“When I arrived no one thought that we could finish fifth or sixth, it would have been a dream, but given what we did and what we wasted with Pesaro and Varese, we could have played for the place with Reggio Emilia which is currently fifth. It happens to even the best teams within two days, this is the reality, we can’t go back. There are regrets, I expected different matches. It’s a shame, if on the one hand we remain in Serie A, consider that Brindisi has won seven of the last ten and hasn’t survived or others that have to fight in the last match to stay in the championship, but the regret remains.”
How are you moving towards the future?
“We have already started thinking about what our roster could be for next season, a hungry roster, a roster that has motivation and ambition, it is still early to talk about it even if we will try to be competitive right from the start”
“We are certainly counting on Cappelletti and Bendzius, based on the budget we will try to do the maximum possible to be competitive, the market is very large but also very limited depending on availability, sometimes you cannot take the players you want due to their characteristics and needs, but players who are still hungry, competitive and functional to our project.”
If they win on Sunday they will finish on a positive note and perhaps manage to secure a place in the European cups
“I’m not looking at finishing with a positive balance, I’m thinking about winning in front of our fans, I wouldn’t want to end with three defeats at home in a row, I care about the fans and honoring the championship”
“With the European cups it is easier to sign good players, but this is our situation, we think that when the BCL ended in the past seasons, Dinamo did better. Dinamo has traditions and a history, you have to sign based also to the project, if we don’t win the cups we will think about doing our best in the championship and being competitive”
