Marseille (France). Provence is tinged with Nerazzurri. THE almost three thousand Atalanta fans who were expected in the city on Thursday (2 May) to watch the first leg of the semi-final of Europa League they arrived starting in the early afternoon with 26 coaches, vans, vans and cars.

Almost all of them left between 5 and 7 in the morning, the first arrivals registered at Place de la Joliette, an obligatory meeting point, a few minutes after 2pm. From there the flow was continuous and practically never stopped: on on the streets of the center a traffic jam was created which obviously slowed down traffic operations.

Each bus left Bergamo independently and many of them then passed us during the journey at the service stations, the arrival in the city was almost simultaneous. The last ones arrived shortly after 5pm.

The Gendarmerie of Marseille has announced that around 1000 officers are working to ensure safety in the city: the police personnel present have created a fence around the square, which is located in the city center a few steps from the Old Port.

The Nerazzurri fans were then escorted in a group to the nearby subway, where the first check of tickets and documents had been scheduled. On the direct line to the stadium, trains were reserved for fans from 4.30pm to 6pm: upon arrival they found gates already open to immediately enter the guest sector.

In the square (where a stage with live music had been installed) there were no problems, although more than one fan complained about the absence of usable public toilets. Thus the adjacent restaurants were attacked, even though no one was allowed to move too far from the reserved area, even for the fear of possible encounters with the home fans.

Marseillais, in fact, who gathered outside the Vélodrome from 6pm onwards with paper bombs, firecrackers and even fireworks.

For almost all the Nerazzurri, the return will be immediately after the match: a night journey home that the Bergamo players hope to face with a positive result in their pocket.
