CISTERNA DI LATINA – Cisterna Volley has extended the contract with the Spanish spiker Jordi Ramon by one year. The place four from Mallorca, 24 years old and 194 centimetres, was the protagonist of a very positive season in his debut in the Super League: first place overall in the aces ranking of the entire championship with 39 winning serves scored in the regular season, after he Davyskiba (Modena) and Semeniuk (Perugia) both with 33 direct points.

Overall, Jordi Ramon, the bullfighter, scored 255 points with sixteenth place in the overall ranking of the best scorers of the regular season, second place in the team behind only the opposite Jordi Ramon who won the overall ranking.

«I wanted to stay because I feel very comfortable here and I am convinced that I improved a lot in my first season in the Italian championship but I think it is possible to do even better in a club that is doing a great job for us – explains the Spaniard – I like it very much the city, people live well here and the areas around us are also beautiful in terms of lifestyle, I feel very comfortable and I like to underline this. Goals? Continue to grow on a personal and technical level to be able to contribute to the team. Last season we only came close to making the championship play-offs and I think that by working hard we can achieve this objective. I feel like a very competitive player and I never like to lose, then I can say that I am an athlete who really loves working in a group and giving his contribution to the group.”

Jordi Ramon knows coach Guillermo Falasca very well because he had already trained him in the previous season, before arriving in Cisterna, when he wore the Narbonne shirt. The Iberian hammer is also a key element of the Spanish national team, with which he has taken part in several international competitions such as the recent European Championships.
