Cisano, history repeats itself. Thirteen years after the last time, the Bergamo team returns to lift the Lombardy Cup, in the same arena as then (the Pala Aironi di Missaglia in May 2011) and with the same coach on the bench, namely coach Mario Marchesi.
Cisano, victory on a day of celebration
It was a volleyball celebration that took place yesterday, Wednesday 1 May 2024, at the Pala Aironi, site of the Lombardy Volleyball Cup finals organized by the Fipav regional committee with the collaboration and commitment of the entire Missaglia Volleyball team.
The women’s final inaugurated the event. Without history in the score: the winner was Actis Furio Vedanese who, after an advantageous first set, legitimized the performance and result against Martinengo Volley (27/25 25/14 25/16). And then the men’s final. On the pitch Voghera, who had eliminated Tai Solutions Merate in the semi-final, against Cisano (victorious over Vittorio Veneto Milano). Well, it was the rossoblù who prevailed at the end of a match characterized by continuous shocks. Cisano takes the lead (27/25), Voghera impacts the series after an endless second set (30/32) but the strength and greater quality of the Cisano team make the difference in the two decisive sets (25/12 25/18).
It ends like this, with captain Useppe Cosa raising the cup. An important season for the association chaired by president Carenini.
