TOUR OF ITALY | 04/30/2024 | 1.39pm
of Press Release
TUDOR Pro Cycling will be at the start of its first Giro d’Italia on Saturday 4 May in Turin: the eight members of the Swiss team are Alberto Dainese, Robin Froidevaux, Alexander Kamp, Alexander Krieger, Marius Mayrhofer, Michael Storer, Florian Stork and Matteo Trentin. A group full of experience that provides sports directors with a wide range of solutions to try to conquer different stages.
The Italian sprinter Dainese will be the man for the sprints, driven by the Swiss Froidevaux who has been in the team since 2021 and is about to tackle the first grand tour of his career, while captain Trentin will try to increase his tally of stage victories in the majors laps (8 so far) on the more “classic” routes as well as the Germans Krieger and Mayrhofer, looking for their first success in a grand tour.
The other German Stork and the Australian Storer (best climber in the 2021 Vuelta) will be the best options for the mountain days. To complete the lot, the strength and versatility of the Danish Kamp.
The owner of the team Fabian Cancellara he believes in them a lot: “This is the right team to go after victories and we are thrilled to say the least for our first grand tour.”
It will be an important commitment for the runners, of course, but it will also be an important one for the entire staff of 20 people who will work for them and for the overall management of the pink race, including logistics. “Getting this far has already required an enormous effort on the part of our staff, our partners and the athletes – explains the team manager Raphael Meyer – so we are determined to do everything we can to have a successful Giro.”
The Tudor is about to travel to Turin where the race will begin, with the big start from Venaria Reale on Saturday 4 May.
