Parabiago – A Sunday full of good performances and positive results for the rossoblù of Rugby Parabiago, on the field with the first men’s and women’s teams and the Under18.
Men’s First XV
After a tight and last-gasp match, the men’s First XV won in Alghero with a score of 22 to 20. It was a very balanced match which saw our Galletti win with a free kick at the end and which brought satisfaction to the staff, as can be seen from the words of theHead Coach Daniele Porrino.
“We are very happy with the attitude of the boys, who tried to play despite the game being very slow and interrupted. There were errors due to many factors, including the heat which we were not used to, but with the right attitude and concentration the boys managed to be determined and put in the performance we wanted. It’s a shame we weren’t able to score the last try to get the bonus point, but it was certainly a positive Sunday. Now we’re going to face the last home match against AS Milano, a decisive match for third place and very motivating for all the boys after the draw in the last minute of the first leg. We hope there will be a lot of people at the stadium: the Under 12 Galletto Trophy and the quarter finals of the Under 16 championship will also be played, we hope it will be a celebration for the whole Club.”
Rugby Parabiago Women
The performance of the Rugby Parabiago Women was very positive, as they won at home with Tortona with the result of 45 – 7, a match which only in the first minutes saw the Piedmontese leading by a goal and which was then led by the girls in rossoblù with determination and a lot of attitude.
“Game played well by the girls, who prevailed with a good result – declares the Technical Director of the Women’s Sector Riccardo Rizzo. We certainly need to improve some aspects, especially in attack, because we had several opportunities to score and we tried to realize them individually or with too much frenzy, when we should have been calmer and made better use of the spaces. The distribution also needs to be improved but overall the girls played a good match also from an attitudinal point of view. We wish good luck to the two injured girls, Gaia and Giulia, who will probably have a long stop. Congratulations to the Woman of the Match Valentina Donna who delivered a very respectable performance in continuity with the previous ones and who scored three tries, deserving this award. Now let’s move on to the last match of the championship, the derby with Cus Milano.”
Under 18
In the morning the Under 18s performed well with Velate on the neutral pitch in Cernusco, winning 29 to 0.
“This phase of the championship is over and we have won our group, with a lot of satisfaction from the team and the staff – tells us the Coach Cristian Agresta. The boys have shown once again that they are very focused and will now face a more challenging group. Today was a good match, also played by some guys who had played a little less so far and who did very well. Excellent first half in attack, in which we managed to respect the deliveries and close the match by scoring 4 tries. We started strong in the second half, scoring the fifth goal, then we lost control of the match a bit, thanks also to them who never gave up. We were good in defense, very tidy and patient. Despite being kept in our half of the pitch and at times even two down due to two yellows, we managed to hold on well and finish without conceding any points. On May 12th we will play again and the level will rise. We must work well to continue our path in the best possible way.”
