The motorcycle that Kove recently showed is in no way inferior to a BMW or a Honda. Rather, they are the ones who have to worry about the competitive price at which it is on sale.
The oriental Kove insinuates itself with great determination into the universe of the most attractive off-road two-wheelers ever, with the latest model presented. One probably would have expected a setback for the brand when the former CEO Zhang Xue – one of the main authors of the success of the company’s motorcycles – announced that he would be leaving. But no.
Kove has given a further boost to its mechanical genius, showing a motorbike that has little or nothing to envy to those of more well-known and widespread logos such as BMW, Ducati, Aprilia And Yamahaalso because it is particularly light and at an affordable price, considering the peculiarities.
It’s about the 800X PROwhich stands out for its compressed weight: just 191.8 kg with a full tank of petrol, 178 kg with an empty tank.
It surprises and is appreciated, also because it has an excellent standing riding position with the saddle close to the ground (875 mm declared, ed.) with the safety guaranteed by suspension and braking that are immediately receptive to commands from those at the handlebars. In fast off-road riding it is a very pleasant motorbike to ride and suited to the needs of the circumstance.
Kove thus wanted to overcome the weight barriers that a maxienduro generally possesses, proposing on the market a combination that a BMWfor example, failed.
When the company declared a reduced weight for its HP2, he couldn’t maintain it, reaching 189 kg. In this case, however, the 178 kg empty are accompanied by a low saddle. A set that allows you to go off-road in the best possible way.
Kove overturns the rules of the market with its lightweight 800X PRO
The strong point for off-road is the suspension. These, in fact, have very active support, therefore they benefit those who prefer to press on the accelerator but at the same time also those who opt not to exaggerate with the speed, because they copy the various roughnesses. It then becomes difficult to find a segment that fully responds to the characteristics of the new one Kove, which can be included in more market contents. It can be fine on a cross track, but also elsewhere.
Furthermore, the turnkey list price is just 10,040 euros. Light years away from direct competitors, for which a decidedly more convincing outlay is required.
It will be necessary to understand which strategy will be adopted Europe, since local companies could be worried about this competition and therefore in some way its diffusion in these latitudes could be limited. However, we are awaiting more information on the km it can travel before it wears out, the ease of finding spare parts and overall reliability, but this already raises a lot of curiosity.
