Fabio Mechini: “My mind now goes to the Italian Cup”

Emma Villas Siena will resume training tomorrow. On May 1st on the pitch for the first leg match of the quarter-finals of the event

Emma Villas Siena will return to training tomorrow in view of the upcoming seasonal events. The great emotions experienced in the final of the A2 series playoffs against Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina remain, with the Marche team winning the series and gaining promotion to the Super League. There also remains the satisfaction of having seen a great show at the PalaEstra in game 2 of the playoff final, both on the pitch and in the stands where there were as many as 2,100 spectators. The public response was important on a day that has already become part of the history of the Sienese club.

The white and blue team will return to training tomorrow at PalaEstra. The next official match will be on Wednesday 1 May, namely the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup. The Sienese team still doesn’t know who its opponent will be: tomorrow match 3 of the round of 16 series of the event between Brescia and Reggio Emilia will be played. The team that wins the match will challenge Siena in the quarter-finals.

Emma Villas will play the first leg of the Italian Cup quarter-finals away on May 1st. The return match will be at PalaEstra on May 5th. The team that qualifies from this series will qualify for the Final Four of the A2 Italian Cup which will be played in Cuneo on 11 and 12 May.

“This season we had the aim of smiling again after the complicated last year and the relegation from the Super League – was the comment of the vice president of Emma Villas Siena, Fabio Mechini, after game 2 of the final against Grottazzolina. – And we managed to do it, with many positive days that we experienced. During our championship there were also moments of difficulty, but we were able to keep the bar straight and move forward. We got to play the playoff final against a great team that had already won the regular season and had already gotten the better of Ravenna in the semi-final. Even in the final series, Grottazzolina did very well in batting and I would even say in receiving. We played a great championship and it wasn’t a given that we would reach the playoff final. Now we have the goal of the Italian Cup in front of us, we will have to prepare ourselves as best we can in view of these events and with the hope of reaching the Final Four in Cuneo”.
