penalty in the Sprint, podium for Pedrosa with the wild-card!

Fabio Quartararo crossed the finish line in third position in the Sprint Race of the Spanish GP, managing to make a spectacular comeback after starting from 23rd place. The Yamaha rider has though suffered a penalty, given more than an hour after the conclusion of the fast race on the Jerez circuit. Because of irregular tire pressurewere imposed on the French centaur eight seconds to be deducted from the final arrival time.

The Yamaha standard-bearer thus slipped to fifth placecoming overtaken by Daniel Pedrosa (who had preceded by five hundredths at the finish line) e by Franco Morbidelli (which he had left behind by 1.4 seconds). Daniel Pedrosa thus climbs onto the third step of the podium behind compatriots Jorge Martin (Ducati Pramac) and Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas). This is an incredible result for the Iberian, who is participating in this event thanks to a wild-card and riding a KTM.

The 38-year-old, who has only contested four Grands Prix in the last four years (double fourth place last year at Misano) and who contested his last full season way back in 2018, has once again demonstrated his technical caliber. His last podium dates back to 2017, when he won the Valencia Grand Prix aboard the Honda.
