tonna Maria Loreti she passed away last night, April 26th, at 9pm. Or, to use the words of her son Luca Spadoni, “she reached her father”. Father is Francesco Spadoni, the Spadoni of volleyball. And it was them, Anna and Francesco, to build that wonderful adventure that today is the Csi Clai Imola.
«The entire society rallies around the family in this moment of profound pain – writes the company they founded and led -. Now Anna, together with Francesco, will also cheer Clai on from up there in the front row.»
Anna Maria Loreti, animated by a lived faith, she was president of the Csi Clai Imola for decades who raised and introduced several generations of girls to volleyball and sport. Always, however, with the person at the center.
To understand this commitment, where sport does not ignore personal values and growth, let’s take some sentences pronounced by Loreti during the speech given on the occasion of her resignation as president of the company, reported by Il Nuovo Diario Messaggero of 9 June 2007: «La Libertas Clai it has always been an anomalous, family-run sports club. The girls have always been considered our daughters and so have the technicians and instructors. We have always tried to enhance the players as people, with their own strengths and weaknesses […] I want to make a recommendation to technicians, instructors and companions: people will be entrusted to you and, as such, they must be respected and helped, called upon and encouraged; that pinch of humility will be necessary which will make us understand that we are at the service of girls and sport and not the other way around and then we will be able to savor the joy of seeing the group grow technically and humanly, the friendship and complicity that are born, good relationship between families and society”.

The memory of his son Luca

Her son Luca Spadoni shared a thought on his social channels, announcing his mother’s passing: «The path of life is often uphill: it was like that for mother. With four children, a cumbersome husband, a sports club, a farm, commitment to the parish. A friend of mine told me that mother didn’t judge anyone and whoever crossed the threshold of the house was another son/daughter. Perhaps this is the meaning of our tiny existence in this unknown and infinite universe: to welcome life in every atom.”
