He passed away last night, at the age of 89, Nelson Baldellimaster printer of the famous Tifernate school, old glory of cycling champion in the 1950s and 1960s of the most popular classics, as well as founder of the “Bici&Amici” cycling association.

Many still remember the passion and determination with which he faced every race on his bike. The passion for two wheels accompanied him throughout his life often sharing it with Lorenzo Cherubini, “Jovanotti”, to whom he was linked by a family bond on his mother’s side (he was the singer’s cousin).

On several occasions he faced, together with the singer and other friends, bike rides from Città di Castello and Cortona and back. Moments and moments that Jovanotti himself posted with photos and comments on his social profile, collecting thousands of “likes”.

Not only family, work and sport but also solidarity in Baldelli’s long life journey in donating blood to Avis which he contributed to founding and making Commendatore Antonio Gasperini grow alongside the president on various occasions of events and demonstrations.

The mayor, on behalf of the council and community of Tiferno, expressed his deepest condolences to the family today: “A piece of beautiful and gentle history of our city that we will always carry in our hearts. A gentleman in life, sport and associations. The funeral will take place on Saturday 27 April at 11 am at the Santa Veronica church in La Tina.
