Criterium Liberazione: Team Serio double

CREAM – The numbers would be enough to tell the proportions of the success of the Criterium Liberazione di Crema. They have been around four hundred runners who participated in the competitions for Beginners and Students, male and female. There were around seventy companies present at the former Olivetti industrial hub, arriving from all over Italy.
Entertainment, this is the word that best encapsulates the long day dedicated to youth cycling organized by Team Serio. Fourth edition of the «Giancarlo Ceruti» memorial, for the second year «Pierangelo Vacchi» memorial: the race on 25 April in Crema dedicated to the world of youth has entered the heart of Italian cycling, precisely for the engaging force in which to capture energy, enthusiasm, values. Five races took place within the daily program, with the Pink Trophy making a stop for the women’s circuit, and the provincial champions’ jerseys awaiting the winners among debutants, both male and female, and students.
A day that smiled at Team Serio and not only for organizational success, but also competitive success. In fact, Pianengo’s club managed to win two victories, also scoring a double among the students. A reason for joy for the Crema team. Among the Beginners, in the second year’s test there was the victory of Riccardo Longo. The rider from Sergnano achieved his fifth success in as many races this year. A solo from him: he took off towards the middle of the race and ended up having more than two minutes of advantage over the first pursuer, Alessio Clerici of Alzate Brianza. He had already won in 2023 in his home race. In the first year’s test, which opened the day’s program, success was achieved by Mattia Dolfini, protagonist already during the race and decisive inspiration in the final meters: the Ghedi Ciclismo rider preceded Matteo Raisi (Sporteven) and Marco Bertacchini (Progetto Ciclismo Rodengo). Highlighted was Lorenzo Iazzi from Madignanese who managed to take sixth place.
The second great joy of the day for Team Serio came in the Allievi race, with the riders from Crema trying attacks several times to seek victory. On the penultimate lap there was a breakaway with the two home athletes Jacopo Costi And Mattia Arnoldi, with the former managing to achieve success. The pair of riders from Team Serio preceded the group by 10″ which included teammate Simone Invernizzi, fifth, and eighth place for Umberto Vaselli from Madignanese also brought applause.
The two women’s races of the Trofeo Rosa circuit were also hard fought, both decided with the final sprint in the peloton. Among the Debutants there was the victory of Nicole Bracco of Cesano Maderno. In the students’ test, however, she prevailed Maria Acuti, former Gioca in Bici Oglio Po and fourth place for Martina De Vecchi of Team Serio. The race also awarded the provincial titles: the shirts were worn by Iazzi, Longo and Letizia Bonisoli (Team Serio) for the Beginners category, while for the Students it was won by Gloria Vezzosi from Gioca in Bici Oglio Po. To the joy of the winners were joined by the smiles of all the protagonists who wrote a special edition of Liberazione.
