The moment of truth has come in Spain

Even the same Francesco Bagnaia struggled at the beginning of the season last year to find the right path to be competitive with the Ducati Desmosedici GP23, but after working well with his team, he then won his second world title. Today this same bike fell to the Marquez brothers, Marc and Alex, and the two VR46 standard bearers, Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio. The best of the four is Marc, the one who cannot make comparisons with the GP22 and appears to have the advantage of this. The others are working to get there and Bezzecchi doesn’t hide his fatigue.

Bezzecchi in difficulty with the GP23

After a tasteless 14th place in Qatar, in Portimao he finished sixth, and then crossed the finish line eighth in Texas. In no Sprint has he managed to score points and he has just 20 points scored. Obviously these were not the expectations that the 25-year-old had placed in 2024the year in which he even refused the official Ducati (the GP24) so as not to change teams, and therefore leave the VR46 and his trusted team, for Pramac. But this is the reality he faces right now.

In Jerez to improve sensations and results

It was already known that the GP23 was quite different from the previous evolution and in terms of driving the feeling changes a lot. Despite the work in the five days of pre-season testing Bezzecchi arrived in Qatar with still many doubts regarding riding, which he is trying to smooth out, little by little, with the people who helped him grow in MotoGP. Results in hand, however, he still appears quite far from the goal today as he has already competed in three GPs. The fourth round of the season is now upon us and therefore has a new opportunity to get closer to the leading group. There is no time to waste, although growth must be constant and regular.
