Giro d’Italia in the Levant, all the provisions

On Wednesday 8 May the Giro d’Italia, which starts today, will pass through various municipalities in our Eastern Liguria region: Sori, Recco, Ruta di Camogli, Rapallo, Zoagli, Chiavari, Lavagna, Sestri Levante, Riva Trigoso and the Bracco Pass. The passage of the pink caravan in the Levant is expected on Wednesday 8 May, between 1.30pm and 2pm, on the occasion of the Genoa – Lucca stage.

Sori

Traffic ban from 10.30am until the needs cease and parking and stopping ban with removal of all vehicles from 07.00am until the needs cease on Wednesday 8 May 2024 on the SS1 Aurelia.

Camogli

With a specific ordinance, the Municipality also announced traffic in Via Aurelia and Via XXV Aprile on the occasion of the passage of the cycling race called “107th Giro d’Italia” on 8 May 2024. The ordinance:

Recco

In Recco some roads will be closed to traffic to allow traffic to proceed smoothly.

In detail: Via Aurelia (from Ponente to Levante and precisely Via Colombo, via Cavour, Via B.Assereto, Via F.Da Recco).

Limitation hours from 06.00 to 14.00 or in any case until the needs cease.

Rapallo

On May 8, at the times indicated below, in Rapallo the following measures will be implemented in the streets listed below:
A) from h. 11:00 am 2.00 pm and in any case until no longer necessary, the transit ban of all categories of vehicles, animals and pedestrians (for the latter with the exclusion of areas outside the race route) in the following streets affected by the event, including the additional stretches of road leading to them:
• V. Aurelia di Ponente – SS n. 1 – from the municipal border with S. Margherita L.re
• C.so Matteotti stretch between V. Torino and V. Della Libertà
• V. Giustiniani
• Lungomare Vitt. Veneto
• Pastene square
• V. Montebello
• V. Aurelia di Levante – SS n. 1 – up to the municipal border with Zoagli
from h. 07.30 am 2.00 pm and in any case until the needs cease, the ban on parking with forced removal of all vehicles present in the following streets:
• V. Aurelia di Ponente – SS n. 1 – from the municipal border with S. Margherita L.re
• C.so Matteotti stretch between V. Torino and V. Della Libertà
• V. Giustiniani
• Lungomare Vitt. Veneto;
• Pastene square
• V. Montebello
• V. Aurelia di Levante – SS n. 1 – up to the municipal border with Zoagli

Santa Margherita Ligure

Aurelia closed for the passage of the Giro d’Italia from 11am to approximately 2pm. From Santa Margherita Ligure you can only get up to the San Lorenzo della Costa crossroads and in the direction of Rapallo, only up to Porto Carlo Riva. However, there are no limitations to reach Portofino. The passage of emergency vehicles will always be guaranteed.

Chiavari

In Chiavari, temporary changes are planned to the traffic in the streets affected by the route, i.e. via Aurelia, via Prandina, piazza Torriglia, Corso Italia, Corso Gianelli, Corso Assarotti, Corso De Michiel and the Ponte della Pace. From 7am and until no longer necessary, parking is prohibited, with forced removal. Furthermore, starting from two and a half hours before the passage of the race, the transit of all categories of vehicles including public transport and in both directions will be prohibited.

Board

The Municipality of Lavagna announces that there will be a suspension of traffic for the circulation of vehicles on the roads affected by the event, at least starting from 2 hours and 30 minutes before the start of the race, circulation will be prohibited starting from 11.20 am and the parking prohibited on both sides starting from 6 am.

The streets affected by the Giro di Italia will be via Previati, via Goito, piazza Torino (part on the SS 1 Aurelia, via XXIV Aprile, via Aurelia, via Lombardia and via Savoretti.

Sestri Levante

The Municipality of Sestri Levante announces that temporary changes are planned to the traffic along the route of the pink caravan which will touch Viale Mazzini (Sant’Anna Galleries from the border with the Municipality of Lavagna), P.za S. Antonio, Via Fascie, P .za Repubblica, via V. Fascie, via M. Bozzano, via B. Powell, via V.Fascie up to the Lapide crossroads, via Aurelia up to the border with the Municipality of Casarza Ligure.

The passage of the Corsa Rosa in Sestri Levante is expected in a time slot between approximately 1.59 pm and 2.29 pm.
