Rory McIlroy returns to the PGA control room

Five months after his resignation, Rory McIlroy is preparing to return to the control room of the PGA Tour. The Northern Irishman, after slamming the door, resumes his place on the policy board of the main stars and stripes circuit.

Rory will take the place of Webb Simpson, who has decided to take a step back to facilitate the return of the world number 2.

The presence of the five-time Major winner could help the stalled negotiations between the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf Tour, the Arab Super League. Some already hypothesize the birth of a global circuit with no more divisions. “I’m happy to do my part” are the declarations of McIlroy who has indeed rejected a pharaonic offer from the breakaway green circuit, but boasts an excellent relationship with Yasir Al-Rumayyangovernor of the Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund that finances the LIV.
