‘Hat-trick’ with identical compounds
Pirelli has communicated the selection of the to the teams and the FIA compounds for the Emilia-Romagna, Monaco and Canadian Grands Prixidentical for all three: C3 as P Zero White hard, C4 as P Zero Yellow medium and C5 as P Zero Red soft.

Compared to last year there are no changes, also because the compounds have remained unchanged. In fact, however, the softer trio in Imola was not put to the test because the event was canceled at the last minute due to the flood that had hit Romagna.
In 2022, the only precedent for the 18” Pirellis at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, the C2 was used as Hard, the C3 as Medium and the C4 as Soft. The meeting on 17-19 May will tell whether the softer approach will help to offer a wider range of strategic options than in the past on a track where overtaking is notoriously rather complicated.
For Monaco and Montreal, two street circuits characterized by very smooth asphalt, the selection was naturally oriented towards the softer compounds, tested extensively in the more or less recent past.
