RAGUSA – An anti-drug operation began in the early hours of Monday by the Carabinieri of the Ragusa company, who dismantled a network of drug dealers, carrying out precautionary custody orders against 9 people. 3 people ended up in prison, all from Ragusa aged between 24 and 37, a further 4, a 22 year old from Ragusa, 2 Albanians aged 23 and 26 and a 31 year old Romanian, ended up under house arrest, while for 2 other citizens it was the measure of the obligation to reside in the municipality of residence has been triggered.
The suspects will all have to answer, in various capacities, for the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing drugs, and one of them will also have to answer for the hypothesis of the crime of extortion. Furthermore, some of them will also have to answer for the aggravating circumstances of drug dealing to minors and near educational institutions, as well as for complicity and specific recidivism within five years.
During the investigations, which developed in parallel with those that led to the 5 previous arrests made last April, the military was able to document numerous sales of marijuana, hashish and cocaine, all of which took place in the historic center of the Iblean capital, making several seizures of narcotics and material suitable for packaging the substance, for an estimated value of over 30,000 euros. The detailed investigation activity also made it possible to report a further 5 people in a state of freedom for the same crimes, ascertaining a total of over 330 sales of narcotic substances, and to identify more than 68 buyers.
