Wec Imola, qualifying: pole for Fuoco, Ferrari hat-trick. Valentino Rossi third in GT3

After a first stage of the 2024 WEC in the hands of Porsche, the ones that shone on the Imola track were the Ferrari: Antonio Fuoco on the red #50 that he shares with Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen he took pole position in 1’29″466, preceding the yellow #83 driven by Robert Shwartzman and shared with Robert Kubica and Yifei Ye; #51 by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi ranked third at 487 thousandths. The qualifying format introduced this year involves two consecutive sessions, with the best ten of the first 12-minute session going through and competing in the Hyperpole to determine the first five rows. Antonio Fuoco confirmed himself as an absolute specialist on the flying lap, setting the fastest lap in both situations and inflicting over four tenths on his team mates Shwartzman and Pier Guidi. “The fastest lap was special for our fans, who they represent a further boost for our performance.
