Serie A2 F group B

Last round of the championship also for Series A2 before the start of the play-offs: Group B will take to the field on Saturday at 8.30 pm.

GROUP B
ARAN Cucine Panthers Roseto against Velcofin Interlocks Vicenza (Saturday, 8.30 pm). The Abruzzo team have already put the seal on their third place in the standings and due to an unfavorable basket difference, only a defeat for Alpo would give them second place, since finishing on equal points with the Venetian team would not allow them to climb the hierarchies. The Vicenza team are certain of tenth place, but they will be able to try to close this second part of the season in style by winning on a difficult pitch like that of Roseto and hope for the defeat of Umbertide which would guarantee them overtaking in ninth place.

Ecodem Alpo against Martina Treviso (Saturday, 8.30 pm). Coach Soave’s team is almost mathematically certain of its second place, to put this goal on ice it will require a victory in the derby or the simultaneous defeat of Roseto in its home match. The Treviso teams, on the other hand, find themselves in the middle of an intrigue involving three other rivals, where, however, to obtain the best possible result a success will be mandatory: finishing on equal points only with Matelica would give Treviso fourth place; a situation of parity only with Trieste or with the Julian ones and Matelica would leave the Venetians in sixth place; a three-way scenario with Ponzano and Trieste would cause coach Matassini’s team to slip to seventh place; finally, if only Ponzano and Treviso finished with the same points, it would be the basket quotient that would decide the final ranking.

Pallacanestro Vigarano against Posaclima Ponzano (Saturday, 8.30 pm). A victory or defeat in Abano Terme in the difficult match against Udine will be enough for the Ferrara team to avoid direct relegation, since finishing on equal points – following the two victories in the direct clashes – would still give them hope. The Venetian team is certain of its seventh place, but finds itself in the middle of a three-way deal with Trieste and Treviso which could guarantee them a better placement at the end of the regular season: the separated ranking would reward coach Giannolla’s team which therefore would finish in fifth place; finishing on equal points with the Trieste teams would prove Ponzano right due to the direct clashes in favour; finally, in the event of a tie between Posaclima and Treviso, only the basket quotient will establish the hierarchies.

Wave Thermal Abano Terme against W.APU Delser Crich Udine (Saturday, 8.30 pm). The Aponenses will try to do the feat in a truly complicated twenty-sixth round against the league leaders; the victory and simultaneous defeat of Vigarano would allow them to avoid direct relegation, but with one of the two opposite results it would be the Venetians who would end their adventure in Serie A2 prematurely. The Friulians are first in the standings and still unbeaten in 2024, the possibility is to close on a high note with a record second round, but the hunger of their opponents and the very heavy stakes at stake must not make the girls coached by coach Riga.

Alperia Basket Club Bolzano against Solmec Rhodigium Basket (Saturday, 8.30 pm). Mathematics gave the South Tyrolean team the certainty of the play-offs with a round to spare, for this reason even in the event of a defeat and finishing on equal points with Umbertide, the hierarchies would not change thanks to a favorable basket difference. The same goes for the Rodigines who have no other objectives to achieve in this last round of the championship, as they are already certain of having closed the regular season in eleventh place even with an away defeat and the simultaneous victory in Ancona.

PF Umbertide against Futurosa iVision Trieste (Saturday, 8.30 pm). The Umbrian team can no longer reach the post-season because they are disadvantaged by the difference in goals with Bolzano, but ninth place is not as safe as it seems: in fact, an internal defeat and the simultaneous victory of Vicenza in its external match would cause the Perugia team to slip to the tenth place. The Giulians have the possibility of improving their position in the standings, however the tussle for fourth place includes a large group of teams: in the event of finishing on equal points with Matelica and Treviso, the Trieste teams would finish in fourth place; a situation of parity with Matelica or Treviso would confirm Trieste in fifth position (unfavorable basket difference with the Marches, direct clashes in favor with the Trevisos); a separate ranking with Ponzano and Treviso would cause Futurosa to slip to sixth place; the worst case scenario would be to finish on equal points only with Posaclima, as it would make the Giulia teams finish in seventh place.

Halley Thunder Matelica against Basket Girls Ancona (Saturday, 8.30 pm). For the hosts, a victory would be worth confirming fourth place and consequently the field factor in the play-offs, but defeat in the Marche derby could change the scenarios: finishing on equal points with Trieste and Treviso or just with the team Venetian, would make Matelica slip to fifth place; in the event that Halley Thunder and Futurosa finished with the same points, the difference in goals would reward the Marches. The guests will close their championship in twelfth place either with a victory – due to the unfavorable goal difference with Solmec Rhodigium – or with a defeat, however an away success in the regional clash would be an excellent way to say goodbye to the season.
