The ITF has released the calendar of the Davis Cup group matches which will start on September 10th in the four cities hosting the four groups. In Bologna, reigning champions Italy will make their debut on Wednesday 11 September at 3pm against Brazil, and on Friday 13th it will be the turn of the second match – again at 3pm – against Belgium. The match against the Netherlands, second favorite in Group A, will close the triptych, set for 3pm on Sunday 15 September.
In addition to Bologna, games will also be played in three other cities on the same days. In Valencia (Group B) Australia, last edition’s finalist, will challenge the Czech Republic, Spain and France in this edition’s “iron” group. In Zhuhai, which hosts a Davis Cup group for the first time, the United States will be on stage, the most successful nation with 32 Davis Cup successes in their history, along with Germany, Chile and Slovakia. In Manchester (Group D) Canada, winners of the 2022 edition, will face hosts Great Britain, Finland and Argentina. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the final phase in Malaga, scheduled for 19 to 24 November.
