The board of directors of CUS L’Aquila has been renewed, Francesco Bizzarri confirmed as president. “We are starting to reap the fruits of the work done in recent years”.

Yesterday, the renewal of the positions of the board of directors: elections that should have been held in 2023, but – with the transformation into Federation of the body – there was an extension which led to the votes taking place on 12 April 2024. Clear confirmation for the outgoing boardwho was re-elected with full votes by the 16 members who voted on 20 total registered members of CUS L’Aquila.
“I am happy for this reconfirmation which has convincedly promoted the work carried out by me and by the advisors who have supported me in recent years“, underlines the professor Francesco Bizzarri, listened to by our editorial staff. In addition to Bizzarri, confirmed as president of CUS L’Aquila, the following were re-elected: Senior Councilor Carlo Sandolo, then Giulia De Paulis and Emiliano Ponticelli.
“Giulia and Emiliano are two former university students: Giulia is the captain of the volleyball team, while Emiliano played five-a-side football. They are two members of the CUS from L’Aquila who have always remained in the city”, adds Bizzarri.

There is room for the new generations also with the reconfirmations that have arrived within the ranks of CUS L’Aquila. Bizzarri, elected with unanimous votes, was asked to continue to hold the reins of reality in this first phase which sees the CUS converted into a federation. Professor Bizzarri’s willingness came, with the desire to carry on a work which, in the next few years, will continue in the name of continuity.
“In this sporting season we are finally reaping the fruits of the commitment and dedication spent in these years of growth. With the girls of the Volleyball team, after winning the Abruzzo Cup, we are first in the Championship and now we are ready for the big match with Giulianova, second in the standings. The university boys’ football team has qualified for the national championships which will be played in Campobasso. We will then see if there will also be 5-a-side football, called to compete for access to the finals in Viterbo. Let us remember that the reality of the CUS L’Aquila has inevitably suffered stop caused by the earthquake: after years, with passion and determination, we are trying to return to what were our standards”, concludes Bizzarri.
