General manager Seeber, director Zamuner and coach Gallo work towards the only possible objective declared already in the summer: to do better than last season. The repair market will open on January 2nd which for Vicenza only involves a few adjustments because in the summer Zamuner has already built a solid and valuable group.
Director, did you expect a first round like this?
I was aware that I had built a good team with the right men in the right places. In the summer we shared some ideas with Gallo that I worked on, but the credit for the good things we are doing goes to everyone, from the ownership to the technical and medical staff.
The most difficult aspect to overcome upon arrival?
I didn’t find any major problems or negativity, clearly it was a place that had come from two years of disappointments, but turning the page wasn’t difficult. Thanks first and foremost to the fans, they immediately welcomed me well and with trust, their love smoldered under the ashes, it was enough to give them some air and they were off again… spectacular, with Gallo and the boys we always tell each other that. Then in the summer we were able to carry out a half-revolution, many players were out of contract and those who remained accepted the project fully. Thanks to Gallo who instilled in him the desire to never give up, today we have a team beyond values: humble, with character and ready for hard work!

Demonstrating that we did well in the summer, we are covered in all roles with strong players with no difference between starters and non-starters. I have already said how we will move: we would like to send Fantoni and Cester to play because they are good and serious. Incoming we are looking for a central defender and a deputy Costa, even if we still managed well when Pippo was missing.

Nobody, but on the other hand how do you leave a square like this? One would have to be crazy…
Some names are starting to circulate, haven’t you tested the waters for Daniel Leo, 24 years old, center back for Crotone, and for Damiano Cancellieri, 24 years old, left back in Syracuse on loan from Avellino?
We are thinking, we are looking for people with character and determination, as well as quality. Every choice will aim first of all not to damage the group which is cohesive and strong, one rotten apple is enough to ruin a cassette as the old men said.

Yes, we are following them, but like some others, we still want to take on people who don’t need training, who are ready to take to the field if needed.
Will it move at the start of the market or in the last few days?
By mid-January it is our intention to close the negotiations for these two roles, we have clear ideas and we want to stay focused only on the championship which is still long.
Della Morte is on loan at Benevento but is playing very little, could there be problems?
I have not received any signals in this sense, we certainly thought it would find more space, however if there is the will to change we will all evaluate together what to do.
Listen, what does Zamuner carry inside himself in recent months?
The affection of the fans, all remembering that goal of mine which not only saved Vicenza but redeemed my season. I recognize myself as having a certain balance: I don’t get depressed and I don’t get excited. Now we have to get to April… it will be 4 months of effort and commitment, but to reach the only goal we have set ourselves!
