Mobilization of law enforcement and medical forces during the night between Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June 2024 to rescue a cyclist who was hit in Cernusco Lombardone. The accident occurred on the provincial road 342 dir which in that stretch is called via Spluga a short distance from the traffic light a few minutes after midnight.
Cernusco, cyclist hit on the provincial road
Even though it was late in the day, the accident, the dynamics of which are being examined by the officers of the Municipal Police who intervened on the scene, occurred before the eyes of many people. In fact, the Notte Bianca was underway in Cernusco Lombardone and many had also gathered to watch the passage of the Monza Resegone race.
The cyclist was hit on the provincial road and after the violent impact, passers-by alerted the police. Initially, the worst was feared for the injured man, a 51-year-old man, so much so that the operations center of the Regional Emergency and Urgency Agency sent an ambulance to Cernusco with the red code of maximum severity.
Fortunately, after the first timely treatment provided on site, the man’s clinical picture appeared, although serious, not critical. In fact, once stabilized the 51-year-old cyclist was transported to the Manzoni Hospital in Lecco under yellow code.
