Road tragedy last night at 10.30pm on the A4 motorway, shortly after the Arino di Dolo service area towards Venice. For reasons to be ascertained, an accident occurred between a car and an articulated lorry: a young woman died, a man was injured.
From the first reconstruction it would appear that a Fiat Panda with the two young people on board collided with the heavy vehicle shortly before the detour to the A57.
The first aid was provided by a passing firefighter from Udine, who began CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) operations before the arrival of the medics).
The firefighters who arrived from Mira and Padua made the vehicles safe and assisted the Suem rescue team.
Unfortunately, despite the rescue efforts, the doctor had to declare the death of the young 20-year-old woman.
The driver of the Fiat Panda was slightly injured and taken to hospital. The driver of the heavy vehicle was uninjured.
The policeman and auxiliary staff of the CAV are on site. During the rescue operations the highway remained blocked.
The firefighters’ rescue operations ended half an hour after midnight.
