Gang rape. The judge for the preliminary hearing (gup) of Milan, Roberto Crepaldi, sentenced two young footballers from Livorno to 3 years and 7 months For sexual violence. It’s about Federico Apolloni and of Mattia Lucarelli, son of art of Christian, flag of the Tuscan team. The two young people had been accused by one American student 22-year-old, who had reported being abused on the night between 26 and 27 March 2022. Other people were involved in the abbreviated trial three defendants.

According to the sentence read by the preliminary hearing judge, on the night between 26 and 27 March 2022 a 22-year-old American student suffered a rape of group.
Among the 5 defendants, also the two Livorno footballers Mattia Lucarelli (25 years old next July, son of the former footballer – now coach – Cristiano) e Federico Apolloni (24 years old in January).

Both were sentenced to 3 years and 7 months for sexual violence: present at the reading of the sentence (the reasons for which will be filed within 90 days), they immediately left the courtroom, petrified.
The double version: accusation versus defense
The Prosecutor’s Office reconstructed the evening: the quintet of friends would have met the 22-year-old outside a nightclub in Sempione area, in Milan.
The girl had gotten into the car asking to be taken home, but was taken to Mattia Lucarelli’s house: according to the prosecution’s consultants, the 22-year-old was so upset as to be “unconscious“, and all the defendants took advantage of this situation.
According to defense consultants, however, the 22-year-old had a blood alcohol level below 0.5, which also allows you to drive.
Compensation to the girl victim of abuse
However, one of the two incidents of sexual violence contested occurred, according to the judge, with the abuse of conditions of inferiority as the girl had drank a lot.
The victim was awarded compensation of 50 thousand euros: it’s about a provisional, i.e. an advance on the full amount that will be definitively due to you.
The sentences of the other defendants
As reported byHandleone of the other three defendants was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months.
The other two, however, both a 2 years 5 months.
The prosecution had requested a sentence of 3 and a half years for all 5 defendants (already discounted by a third due to the choice of the abbreviated procedure).
The reaction of the players
The lawyer Margherita Benedini, one of the defenders of the 5 defendants, including Mattia Lucarelli, described his clients as “devastatedthey are normal 20-year-olds.”
The lawyer added that “Not share” the sentence specifying that the judge gave “a different reconstruction than that of the Prosecutor’s Office”.
