Ivan Dettori, the 19-year-old who disappeared three days ago in Arzachena has been found dead. A few hours before the last appeal from the parents: “Everything will be sorted out”

Ivan Dettori, the 19-year-old who disappeared on Friday in the town of Costa Smeralda, was found lifeless in the countryside of Arzachena. The searches began immediately after the family’s alarm. The Municipality of Arzachena had launched the appeal to all the inhabitants and a large mobilization had started. Firefighters, law enforcement, the Barracellare company, mountain rescue, volunteers, drones and an Air Force helicopter searched the entire Arzachena area. Today the sad epilogue: the lifeless body was found in the countryside of the town, in the Sarraiola area. Only a few hours ago, parents Domenica Pusceddu and Giovanni Dettori had published a video in which they invited the young man to return home: «Mom’s love, come home. We are all worried. Whatever happened, everything will be sorted out.”

Disappearance

Since Monday 3 June, the family members had no longer heard from Ivan Dettori, a 19-year-old from Arzachena who had lost track of himself and was untraceable after leaving the house without saying where he was going. The announcement of his disappearance and the appeal to anyone with useful information to find him had been spread on the social channels of the municipal administration of Arzachena in Sardinia by the Civil Protection. «The Municipality of Arzachena invites you to call the single emergency number 112 and ask exclusively for the Carabinieri of Arzachena if you want to actively collaborate with the police». Ivan Dettori was enrolled in his fifth year at the Ipsar «Costa Smeralda» institute in Arzachena, in the cooking department. Yesterday, the rescue and search activity for the young man was also carried out by specialists from the national alpine and speleological rescue body who, with the aid of a helicopter and drones, had searched the area surrounding the Gallura town search for some trace that could lead to Ivan Dettori. The searches, coordinated by the Arzachena carabinieri, continued even during the night.
