Last night, Saturday 4 May, the seventh episode of the Evening of Amici 2024 was broadcast where the students of Maria De Filippi’s talent show compete. After months of waiting, the 15 golden jackets were distributed to the best performers of this edition, who are divided into three teams. The first is captained by Rudy Zerbi and Celentano, the second by Emmanuel Lo and Lorella Cuccarini, while the last team is directed by the couple Anna Pettinelli – Raimondo Todaro. Once arrived at the Evening, the judges of Amici 2024 also change: to choose the fate of the young artists trio Cristiano Malgioglio, Giuseppe Giofrè and Michele Bravi. Martina eliminated. Michele Bravi, vote 7: The Professor

Day after day, Michele Bravi has become therewith a more authoritative voice at the judges’ table. The fragility in Can’t Help Falling In Love is the author’s touch, but the balance in the judgment and observations on Martina’s musical dimension do the rest. It would be interesting to see it now in the role of teacher.

Cristiano Malgioglio, rating 5.5: Sweet, but a little salty

Subdued episode for Cristiano, attacked left and right: he has his only moment of light only during the Pupo chocolate ice cream karaoke. We are at minute 1 of the episode and there seems to be no room for anything else.

Emma Marrone, vote ∞: Welcome home

Standing ovation, not just for the single Femme Fatale. After Apnea the singer seems to have found her new electro-pop dimension, with a more authoritative tone than in the past. The hug with Maria is memorable.

Lorella Cuccarini and Emanuel Lo, vote 6: Mamma Mia

It is difficult to have to close the episode, almost, losing one of the protagonists of this edition, on one of the evenings in which the songs sewn on him (except for The football draft of ’68) boded much better. Even in this edition, however, Lorella Cuccarini will probably bring one of her pupils to the final. On the other hand, the lack of dance representation makes the team lean towards the precipice in every episode. Even when, in the second heat of this episode, with all the favors of the case (Holden gauntlet), only a colorless performance by Marisol saves them.

Rudy Zerbi and Alessandra Celentano, rating 7: Excellent Watson

As with the composition of a theatrical show, the seventh episode of the Evening of Amici 23 could not do without the destruction of Rudy Zerbi’s reality and Alessandra Celentano’s ego. To the point that, as in the invisible gorilla experiment on selective attention, almost everyone forgets what happens between Holden and Zerbi. A scene also repeated during the year, but which once again sees Zerbi bending to the will of his young competitor. A lack of communication, a weakness that other teachers could point to, but which ends there, in the mystery. So, is everyone really okay with them winning this year?

Anna Pettinelli and Raimondo Todaro, rating 4: Bitter Tears

It ended as badly as it could have. The journey of Martina, one of the best performers of this edition, is over: it is impossible not to underline how much this result was influenced by Anna Pettinelli’s decisions. Not so much in the choice of songs, where he falls into temptation again tonight Back To Black by Amy Winehouse. But in Martina’s musical communication, relegated to her vocal power more from his comments than from the audience and the judges. In the meantime she has learned to twirl, perhaps too distracted by her character.

Holden, rating 5: 6 AM

The frequency with which he underlines the commitment until 6 in the morning to work on the production of his unreleased song penalizes him, like the passive-aggressiveness that suggests the continuous search for one’s own absolution. In a moment of weakness he also lets slip more than a few comments on the work of the other competitors in the race, who prefer to ignore it. But now, this edition rewrites its own rules and influences the future of this broadcast: we’ll get over it. The breaking of the fourth wall, incredibly, does not even put him among the nominated competitors: it would be interesting to understand how Martina, who for weeks has been facing opposing teams alone, has taken it. Positive note for the single Strays, especially for the production and the sound that conveys the song. Much less Just The Way You Are: a homework from school.

Martina, vote 7: I sing at night so that the stars can see me

There is regret, not a little, for Martina’s unfortunate fate in Amici. Among the best vocal performers of this edition, she sees a place in the final slipping away that she would have deserved, even and above all after the obstacles faced. The same ones that she received both from her teacher in her presentations and in overcoming the audience’s emotion when she tried, a few times, to tell her story. She falls into the trap of Amy Winehouse, a suffering that is difficult to reproduce vocally, but she exalts herself in it This is me, which also gives a glimpse of some traces of the future as a musical performer. Without forgetting his unpublished Nothing like you: the most successful experiment of his entire career, perhaps a little too late to be able to distance himself from the nominations. As with Lil Jolie, yet another great voice from Amici 23 is lost: the conditional weighs on her too than he could have expressed, perhaps with another guide.

Midas, rating 6.5: Risen from the ashes

The fear of being eliminated accompanied him, and he, like a thriller enthusiast, he almost came up with a plan for the entire episode, in anticipation of his rescue in the final seconds. He almost seemed to succumb in the final challenge with Martina, but his pedigree and the numbers collected in this edition saved him. Still little balance between the various moments of the evening, moving from the verse on Sand of Ultimo and the excellent interpretation of Take me out to dance by Luca Barbarossa to a decidedly less convincing one El Pardon by Nicky Jam. It still isn’t convincing, except for a choreographed refrain on TikTok, which is unreleased by him Que Pasanot exactly the last cartridge to fire in a moment of transition between the end of Friends and its next musical chapter.

Petit, vote 6: Throw away the stone, hide the hand

Calibrated, versatile and bold: if only all this were not just what is expected of him in every episode, Petit could be truly happy with his path. But after getting used to a certain type of performance, we expect a twist in each episode, something that surprises and can attract an increasingly larger segment of the public. Pretty it might seem like Maìtre Gims, but he neither adds nor takes away anything from Petit’s dish, from the vocals in dialect to the attempts in French. Still too monotonous in writingis one step away from the final, in which he will have to do something more to secure victory. Mammami it is a taste of what will be out there: it will be important to understand in which area it wants to evolve.

Sarah Toscano, rating 5.5: In trouble

Less engaging than previous episodes, Sarah seems to step out of the songs in some of the renditionsas in Royals by Lorde, but also in Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus. A shame, especially because in both performances she immediately grasps the right tone with which to accompany the first verse in crescendo. What is missing is a further nuance, instead captured in the gauntlet lost with Martina in the interpretation of This is me. But this is also how she managed to grow in this evening, never allowing herself to fall into the banality of repetitions, showing a versatility that belongs to her. What Olivia Rodrigo sings is also singular, even if not exactly the most suitable song: anything other than Malgioglio’s clouds, his feet are on the ground, fixed on the goal.
