“Bellocchi is one of Fano’s business cards in terms of productivity. In addition to this, the priorities that the city can no longer afford to procrastinate should not be forgotten; in Fano we must do more both in terms of safety and on a social level, in order to identify those situations of suffering”.

These are some of the proposals Stefano Marchegiani – candidate for mayor of the coalition ‘Progressives for Fano 2050’ at the next local elections scheduled for 8 and 9 June – who participated in the evening discussion with the other two challengers for the position of mayor, Cristian Fanesi and Luca Serfilippi, which was staged in front of many citizens in the Don Lorenzo Milani room in Bellocchi and organized by Azione Cattolica.

Marchegiani explained how ‘in five years as mayor I would like to conclude the project relating to the Sperandini spinning mill, a historic place for the workers of Fano. Under the spinning mill there are the remains of a Roman theater and the base of a large temple, therefore I would like to create an archaeological museum also for tourist purposes”.

For Bellocchi, the progressive candidate has in mind the creation of some car parks, the maintenance of the roads and the greenery present in the industrial area and also the recovery of the relationship with the Metauro river in order to rediscover a link with history, promoting the redevelopment of the Water Tower.

For the ‘Progressives for Fano 2050’ coalition – as explained by Marchegiani – it is also essential to “rediscover relationships with the neighbourhoods, with the neighborhood councils”.

A city oriented towards the future must also have young people at its centre: “It is necessary to create opportunities to meet with students; I am thinking, for example, of the relationships with schools also thanks to the contribution of the Teatro della Fortuna and the involvement of children in city festivals (Jazz, Literary, Passaggi, Centrale photography, etc.). We must talk to young people, but above all listen to them: together we will be able to carry out good projects”, concluded Marchegiani.
