«He took the same Chanel twice more»

The first theft of Chanel’s Chance perfume dates back to December, just before Christmas. Already that day in the Duty Free 25 of Terminal 1 of the airport Fiumicino there was the thirty-year-old sales assistant who accuses Piero Fassino. She is one of the six witnesses who has already spoken to Polaria, who filed the first information on the facts with the Civitavecchia prosecutor’s office. The new chief prosecutor Antonio Liguori will have to decide on the fate of the PD deputy, who is now formally investigated for attempted theft.

The videos

In the information there are five videos that would deny the version of the former mayor of Turin. Fassino would have been filmed by four surveillance cameras in the store. Added to these is the testimony of the shop assistant: «It was December 2023, before Christmas, I don’t remember the day well – he told Repubblica -. I saw the politician enter our shop and recognized him. Shortly after, to my surprise, I saw that he was hiding a Chanel Chance inside his trolley. I was uncomfortable but I approached him and asked him if he needed help. That was the first time, then the other two came.”

The alleged attempted theft

Fassino allegedly replied: “I’m going to pay, can you point me to the tills?”. Then he left. The narration continues: «But that episode was reported, so much so that on March 27th when I saw him come into our house again I thought “Do you want to see what happens again?”. I was with a colleague. She went to call security, I followed while she left. He had put the perfume in his pocket, always a Chanel Chance.” Furthermore, there is the testimony of the vigilante who stopped him on April 15: «We called the police and the investigators identified him. He didn’t tell us anything. He didn’t react with phrases like “You don’t know who I am”, he just tried to pay.”
