To address the “challenges of energy security, climate change and environmental protection – added the minister – there are three priorities: concreteness, cooperation in particular with Africa, a pragmatic and non-ideological approach according to the principle of neutrality technological”. On cooperation with Africa, Pichetto underlined the need to “build, in accordance with the spirit of the Mattei Plan, non-predatory partnerships, supporting the most vulnerable in adapting to the effects of climate change and promoting access to clean energy and sustainable which today is denied to 43% of the continent’s inhabitants”.
Among the topics at the center of the G7, the minister cited “renewables, energy efficiency, progressive exit from fossil fuels, biodiversity, but also research for new generation nuclear power, fusion, circular economy, critical raw materials, biofuels”. The minister greeted all the delegations present and wanted to thank “the institutions and citizens of the municipality of Venaria, the city of Turin and the Piedmont Region for their extraordinary hospitality and collaboration”.

A protest that was announced yesterday at the end of the demonstration which was attended by around a thousand people who crossed Venaria Reale, after blocking the ring road for around twenty minutes and reaching the police barriers close to the Royal Palace of Venaria where the G7 meeting. In Turin, this evening at 7pm, an event will start from Palazzo Nuovo, home of the humanities faculties, whose promoters include the Askatasuna social center and the student collectives, the aim of which is to reach the hotels where the delegations are hosted.
