«A beautiful show». This is how Marcello Ciannamea, director of Prime Time Entertainment, defined Forte e Chiara in the launch press conference, Chiara Francini’s program which aired live on Rai1 on Wednesday 10 and 17 April. The third and final episode, scheduled for next Wednesday, will not see the light.
In fact, public television announced the stop of the program produced by Ballandi: «The project conceived with experimental purposes, despite conveying important and original values, did not however produce the desired results». However, the Prime Time Management thanked Chiara Francini because she “confirmed that she is a great artist by accepting the challenge of bringing this idea of hers to the prime time of Rai1”. The debut of Forte and Chiara, christened by the telephone intervention of Pippo Baudo and with studio guests Luca Argentero, Nino Frassica, Lillo, Laura Chiatti, Carlo Conti, Leonardo Pieraccioni, Giorgio Panariello, Marco Masini and Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, had lost the challenge with the Canale 5 drama Vanina (2,781,000, 16.51%), recording 2,176,000 viewers and a 13.9% share. Worse than the last disappointing appointment of Colpo di luna by Virginia Raffaele (2,395,000 and 14.08%), which, again on Rai1, had not shone in January.
