The lawyers of the Trevallion spouses appoint a pool of cultural mediators to study the court papers
A super team of professionals to interpret and harmonize the provisions of the Court with the principles of the Trevallion family. These are days of great work for the lawyers of the couple – Femminella and Solinas – who went on the counterattack after having suffered the provision of the Juvenile Court of L’Aquila which he denied reuniting his three children. Dad Nathan continues to live alone in Palmoli, mum Catherine is in the protected facility where three times a day she can see the children hosted there since last November 20th.
The lawyers have chosen a pool of cultural mediators (a sociologist, a child neuropsychiatrist, a psychologist, a pediatrician) who have already started studying the court papers in these hours. Tonino Cantelmi, psychiatrist and associate professor at the Gregorian University, appointed a few days ago, will instead work on the psychological counter-examination on the three children and will have 120 days to complete it.
However, there is another emergency that will have to be resolved in the first days of January, when schools reopen: the education of the three children, deemed crucial by the judges. What will be the path chosen by guardian Palladino for the three? The Palmoli primary school has already expressed its willingness to welcome them for some time, but it is far away from the structure where the children currently live, Vasto. Here the public school does not accept enrollments in January. However, there is a private school, the Daughters of the Cross Institute, also in Vasto, which offered to host the three little ones free of charge.
«Ours is a bilingual school, therefore perfect for them – explains the director Massimiliano Melchiorre -. Furthermore we are a small community, insertion would be less traumatic.” The guardian will probably opt in an initial phase for a simpler solution: a teacher within the family home who will follow the children in their schooling.
Meanwhile there is New Year’s Eve to face. The family will still spend it separated in the woods and this fuels the great debate. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani also expressed doubts: «Apart from the mistakes that the parents may have made, it doesn’t seem to me that there was any mistreatment of their children. It seems wicked to me not to have allowed everyone to have Christmas lunch together.” Tajani added: “If I had to decide, I would make the children go to school, but I would entrust them to parents who seem like two helpful people to me, they are not two dangerous criminals.”
