The new season, the fifteenth, will reserve many surprises and the arrival of new characters including Diletta Leotta, Max Tortora and Valeria Fabrizi. The protagonist of the new episodes will be, as always, Don Massimo whose fate, however, is not certain at least in the 16th season.

The idea of abandoning Don Matteo
To be honest Don Massimo it shouldn’t even have been in this new season and the reason is linked to scandal which overwhelmed Bova last June. Given the wave of mud and the media outcry unleashed around his personal life, the actor has seriously thought about leaving Don Matteo and was the first to come forward with the production to avoid harming the cast and the credibility of his character: «For this reason, when what we know happened, I called the producers of the series to understand what was best to do. I told them: “If you think that, with my personal life, I am doing harm to such a beloved fiction, tell me and I will step aside.” I even proposed doing it die suddenly Don Massimo to leave the scene.”
