Salmo celebrates forty years
Salmostage name of Maurizio Pisciottu, celebrates his birthday. Complete forty years. Actually, 27. Since 1997, when he started composing his first rhymes, he has come a long way. Today he is among the most important rappers on the Italian scene. In 1999 he published the demos Premeditazione e Dolo with the Olbia rappers Bigfoot and Scascio, with whom he formed the group Premeditazione e Dolo. In 2004, however, the first solo demo, “Sotto pelle”.
To definitively launch him onto the national scene, The Island Chainsaw Massacrethe first studio album released in 2011. The following year, together with DJ Slait, Enigma and Hell Raton, he founded the record company Machete Empire Records. Also in 2012, for the label he participated in the first mixtape of the «Machete Mixtape» series with Ensi, Bassi Maestro, Clementino and MadMan. From that moment, six studio albumswhich contain one success after another and several sold out concerts. The most recent work is the one with Noyz Narcoswith whom he is currently on tour Hellraiserswhich sees them as protagonists of the summer festivals scattered throughout Italy. The final stage is the one at theArena Olbia August 17th.
Yesterday, instead, the single came out “Kawasaki band”. An urban song that sees Salmo together with Achille Lauro and Gemitaiz. The video was shot together with the Ragazzi Madre of the Kayros community of Don Claudio Burgio. The song deals with contemporary issues and wants to make us reflect on urban life and the contradictions of modernity. The other single with which the rapper from Olbia inaugurated the summer is the special version of “Love Overdose” by Zuccherowho defined it “phenomenon” and always showed him great respect.
In addition to his musical career, Salmo has also undertaken that of actor. In 2016 he played himself in the film “Zeta – A Hip-Hop Story” by Cosimo Alemà. The following year, he was the lead actor in the short film “Nuraghes S’Arena”, created and directed by Mauro Aragoni. In 2022, however, she starred in the Sky TV series “Block 181”of which he was also a musical and creative producer. During the assignment of the PCS 2024 (which he won “because with contemporary languages he manages to transport Sardinia into the globalized world”) he announced that he wanted to shoot a documentary on the Costa Smeralda.
