The trapper Shiva, stage name of Andrea Arrigoni, risks a seven-year prison sentence, on trial in Milan with the abbreviated trial for the shooting of 11 July 2023. This is the request of prosecutor Daniela Bartolucci for the 24-year-old who is accused of attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm and receiving a pistol, which has never been found so far. The shots that hit rivals near the rapper Rondo Da Sosa in the hard legs in front of Shiva’s recording studio in Settimo Milanese were fired from that weapon.

“He wanted to defend himself”

According to the lawyers assisting Shiva, the rapper would have “done nothing other than defend himself from the violent attacks” of the two boys who were then injured. The next hearing has been set for July 3, in which the trapper’s defenders, Daniele Barelli and Marco Campora, will intervene. The ruling is expected on July 10. Also in the courtroom was Shiva, who was under house arrest after his release last February.

Shiva speaks in the classroom

Shiva made spontaneous statements in the hearing, explaining that this experience “completely turned my life upside down”. The trapper said he also feels within himself “the burden of having given a terrible example to the many kids who follow me and appreciate my songs, of having disappointed them with my behavior”. On the period spent in prison, the trapper says he had the opportunity to «reflect on the importance of my role as an artist, I know I am a vehicle of values and I will strive, through my music, to transmit healthier messages and examples and above all to no longer give space and importance to stupid rivalries that have nothing to do with music. I would just like to go back to making my music and I perfectly understand the mistakes made in the past.” Shiva, who explained that he did not see his son being born because he was in cell, claims that today he is «a different person, much more responsible. Never again – he concluded – will I find myself in situations like the one at issue in the trial, because I want to be an example for my son and for all my fans.”
