In the episode broadcast on Monday 13 May on Canale5, Striscia la Notizia returns to deal with the poets and writers who have collaborated “without their knowledge” to the texts by Claudio Baglioni. The correspondent, in fact, showed the very strange composition of “Maipiù come te”, a song by the singer-songwriter from the early 2000s.

The text, in fact, contains verses in sequence by three different authors, three historical poets who “lent” the words to Baglioni who he made up an entire sentence of it.

The offending text

Baglioni’s “engineering construction” revealed by Casanova in Antonio Ricci’s program, in fact, reveals how the singer took verses from Salvatore Quasimodo, Marguerite Yourcenar and Alfred Tennyson.

In “Never again like you” Baglioni would have put the verses of the three poets in line with each other to compose an entire verse of the song: “But as it is always late to love (Quasimodo)/ Love is a punishment. We are punished for not being able to be alone (Yourcenar) / It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved (Tennyson)”.

To tell the truth, Baglioni sings: “And as it is always late to love, love is the penalty to pay for not wanting to be alone and it is better to love and lose than to win and never love”. According to an updated calculation by Striscia i “cited” passages would be over a hundred.
