How to turn to Eurovision (and why you can’t support Angelina Mango from Italy)

Starting this evening second semi-final of theEurovision Song Contest 2024 which in this year’s edition takes place in Malmo, in Sweden. I’m in everything 37 countries are competingbut Sweden (host nation) and the so-called Big Five (Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy and Spain) are not competing because they have already qualified for the final on Saturday 11 May.

In the first semi-final on May 7, 15 artists performed and among these ten had access to the final.

This evening the other 16 competing singers will take to the stage: ten of them will advance to the final. There will therefore be 26 finalists who will compete on Saturday evening to win Eurovision.

Italian viewers, like every year, can only vote during one of the two semi-finals (this year the second evening, i.e. today) and during the final.

This evening it will be possible to vote from the 16 competing countries, from three of the Big Five (Italy, France and Spain) and from states that do not participate in the festival.

By regulation, viewers of a country cannot vote for their country’s singer. Italians or residents in Italy will therefore not be able to vote during the final for Angelina Mango, who will already perform this evening with Boredom but without being in the race.

You can vote via telephone by calling 894.222 and entering the artist code (from 01 to 26) at a cost of 0.51 euros. Via SMS by sending an SMS to 475.475.0 with the code of the artist to be televoted at a cost of 0.50 euros. Via the Esc2024 App (available on iOS and Android) at a cost of 50 cents.
This evening you will be able to vote from the beginning of the evening until a few minutes after the last performance while during the final televoting will be closed immediately after the last performance.

The public vote will account for 50.7%. 49.3% will be decided by the vote of National Juries which are made up of 5 members chosen by the broadcasters of the individual countries.
