As in the repetitive refrain of one of his songs, the trapper with millions of followers Baby Gang, pseudonym of Zaccaria Mouhib, has once again ended up in prison, this time in Lodi. This was decided by the third Court of Appeal of Milan, noting a violation of house arrest with the publication on social media of posts linked to his new album. A violation which for the judges has a “serious nature” and is “indicative of the concrete and current danger of recurrence of crimes similar to those for which” the trapper is accused. The artist, who will turn 23 in less than two months, was under house arrest in his home in Lodi in Calolziocorte with the electronic bracelet since January and with first degree sentences of 4 years and 10 months for a robbery and 5 years and 2 months for a shooting in the summer of two years ago in the center of Milan.
The news of the arrest was spread through the trapper’s Instagram page, which is managed by his managers, according to which the posts had all been “authorized”.
«They have just arrested Baby Gang – we read in a story on the artist’s Instagram profile -. This time the accusation is of having violated house arrest by posting on social media. It’s a shame that this page is managed by his team and not by him personally and that all the contents published here were shot on the occasion of the permits issued by the same judges who ordered his arrest today. It’s all so absurd that we are forced to think about a precise choice, that of silencing an inconvenient artist in a moment of maximum visibility.”
The trapper’s lawyer, Niccolò Vecchioni, has already announced his intention to appeal to the Review Court. Meanwhile, the second degree trial for the shooting in Milan will be held on June 4th. “The superficiality of this motivation is astonishing, given that the singer’s social account is managed by his manager and the material published was created in work sessions that had been authorized by the Court of Appeal itself,” declared the lawyer.
The trapper’s new album is called «L’angelo del male» and boasts collaborations with important artists such as La Furia, Ernia, Rkomi, Rocco Hunt, Fabri Fibra.
But there are also Simba La Rue, who was involved in the shootout with Baby Gang, and was sentenced in first instance and to house arrest for having violated the hours imposed by the obligation to stay, and Niko Pandetta, neo-melodic singer and trapper, also he ended up in prison for drug dealing and evasion.
