“I didn’t expect all this noise, all this ‘joy’, as we say in Bari. I’ve always been an underground artist and I’m not happy with the idea that some newspapers have noticed the true school of Bari rap after this dissing. Rapping in Bari is not just a question of language, it is a much deeper feeling. Then dissing is part of rap and hip hop culture, it’s a bit of a sport.” Thus the historic rapper Miss Fritty from Bariwith the frankness that also distinguishes his music, opens his chat in the living room of “Telebari Social Night”, telling what is happening after his latest single “Ge la ti ne”, a rapped response to the sound of digs at the singer Serena Brancale, riding high with her hit “Baccalà”.

“In Bari there has always been a huge rap scene, a strong reggae culture. I am comfortable with contamination if there is truth, even if I understand that it costs a lot – continues Miss Fritty -. Just as I experienced it well before the interviews released by the person concerned arrived (Serena Brancale ed.). It didn’t hurt that she didn’t cite me as an inspiration, but I wanted the many other real rappers from Bari to at least be mentioned. This summer we had a huge loss in rap and for the whole city of Bari, and it is Walino, who in addition to being a colleague was a brother to me. One of those people you argue with and then forget why, I’ll never forget the laughs we had. Nico has done a lot, he has collaborated with international artists. There were many people like him who he should have mentioned, thanked and instead he didn’t.”

“I am one of those people who left Bari, I have been in London for 14 years and I continue my musical career and my career in the field of software and technologies – he explains further -. People like me at that time needed stimuli that the Apulian capital was unable to provide to grow culturally, stimuli that it offers today, because it is a beautiful reality full of opportunities also on a musical level”. Meanwhile, many are wondering on social media if there will ever be a musical collaboration between the two singers, yet Miss Fritty is clear for now: “At the moment I don’t think so, but anything can happen in the future. On the other hand, it also happened after the world wars that two nations made peace”.
