In a new interview given to the Brazilian news portal “G1” on the occasion of the three concerts he will do in Brazil in May 2024, Louis Tomlinson opened up about his solo career after the experience with One Direction, his projects and some rumors that have been circulating for years regarding her alleged relationship with her colleague Harry Styles.

In this regard, the singer stated: «What I understood a few years ago is that there is nothing I can say. There is nothing I can do to stop those who believe in this conspiracy.” Louis Tomlinson then continues to explain: «(…) I’m sure a lot of people look at and find interesting all these little conspiracies that happen in life. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me a little angry, but it’s the nature of the job. There are times when it gets very personal. I have my son, Freddie, who is the most important person in my life and occasionally,[these theories, ed.]end up dealing with things that are a little unfair. (…) There is nothing I can do. There’s nothing I can say to stop people from making up whatever they want. That’s how it is.”

The singer also responded to a question regarding possible competition with former members of One Direction, each of whom has embarked on a solo career, with very different monthly listens on Spotify. According to what was reported by the portal, in fact, Harry Styles has around 58.2 million listeners, followed by Zayn Malik with 27.3 million, Niall Horan with 17.3 million, Liam Payne with 5.7 million and finally Louis who would have 2.9 million. «Unfortunately, this is the nature of the music industry. She is naturally competitive. We are all competing (…). But now I see it in a very different way. And like I said, it requires maturity. I also needed to succeed on my own to overcome it. (…) Oh, and just to reiterate, because it’s important: while before I felt competitive, or more competitive than I am today, I was still immensely proud of everything the kids did.”
